EMail Setting: SMTP port

I am trying to configure my Nokia E61 mobile to receive my corporate mails.
The set is successful and I can receive mails; but cannot send mails.
I found out that the SMTP port used by our mail server is in 4 digits,
but the phone does not allow me to type a port number more than 3 digits.
Please suggest a solution.

If you sent your email to a third party such as MessageLabs it could forward it on for you.

Or a cheap mail server in your corporate DMZ, then you could tell your primary server to accept mail from that server on any port you wish. I would not use the same SMTP port used by the other systems. Use something specific. Bolt down your external firewalls on eitherside of the DMZ to accept and transmit SMTP mail from and to a single place for security.
