hi i am trying to use the remote lock feature on my e61 but i cant get it to work! i set a passphrase, then i send it with sms to my phone using a friends phone but nothing happens... it just opens the sms like a regular sms and nothing happens... PLZ someone know how does this work?
(the phase i use is written in greek, maybe its that the problem?)

I dont't know why it isn't working for you but your post made me curious about this feature so i decided to try it. Set the lock message to be "lock now"and sent myself an sms with "lock now" to test it. As soon as the sms had arrived, the phone restarted and asked me for the lock code. Entered it and it booted just fine. But then it suddently asked me for the memory card password even though i had never set any password for it! Had a look in the manual but it just said that you could set a password but didn't say what the default one was. I tried everything: 00000000, 11111111, 12345678, password, pass, pwd, sandisk... But none worked. I was really starting to flip out. I'm going on holidays tomorrow morning and have several apps i really need on the card plus a couple of movies i wanted to watch during the 9 hours bus journey. My home pc died just a few days ago so no internet connection at home. I tried to use the phone browser to find help on the web but the thing didn't work anymore, it kept timing out even though it was working just fine 10 seconds before i tried this remote lock thing (damn murphy's law). I was about to rush back to work to get an internet connection when i had a silly idea: i tried to enter the sms lock message ("lock now"😉 as the password for the memory card. It worked! And the web browser started to work again.
It looks like there's a couple of really nasty bugs here. I would stay away from this remote lock thing for the moment.

Thanks for the link aloner-my phone would not respond to the SMS either until I set up the lockout code, and now, no probs. Like how the E61 sends you a confirmation return SMS... cool.
Something else to watch out for: the password is also case sensitive.
The remote locking changing the memory card password to the lock message is an intentional feature, not a bug. It is there to protect the memory card from being used in some other device.
This behaviour is as it is in the 9500, 9300 and 9300i models, where the feature first appeared.
I haven't read the E61 User's Guide, so I don't know how well it is documented there.
