Wirelessly posted (NOKIA 6630: NokiaN80-1/3.0 (3.0617.0.5) Series60/3.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1)

is gmail the same as googlemail? if so then the settings r: incoming server: pop.gmail.com, mailbox type: pop3, security (ports): SSL/TLS, port: 995! outgoing server: smtp.gmail.com, security (ports): startTLS, port: 587 try those settings, dnt forget to put ur full email address as ur user name in the mail settings, also b sure to set ur mail address and password in both incoming and outgoing mail settings!

Chhers lad (great link by the way) Couldnt get gmail working for ages could only use vodafone's email..
Shame you cant use hotmail that would be handy..

One quick question though, is it possible to delete the email headers from the phone without removing it from the server too?

I never had any problems setting up my Gmail account on my N80, however there is a bit of a niggle in that every time i connect to check my gmail account, it says "This site has sent an untrusted certificate. Continue anyway?" and it takes two more keypresses to continue through

Is there anyway to over-ride this warning so i dont have to manually accept it every time?

Have followed this and a few similar threads on this board, have been trying to connect to my gmail using the email client that comes with the phone, and it wont work, it attempts to connect but after a period of time it eventually times out. What network is everyone on who has connected successfully? I am using three and a call to there customer services I was told it is not possible to connect to pop using the client on a N80.

I'm on O2 PAYG and it also fails to connect via GPRS for me. Everything works fine using a WiFi connection thought. Bummer 😡

Hey man, I found a site few weeks ago which described in detail how to override the untrusted certificate issue but lost the link .. So I was wondering if any of you got over it.. I had a 6680 and set it up to override this issue but now I changed my phone and have same issues..

Thanks in advance to anyone comming up with a sollution.

LATER EDIT: I just found that link on google.. It worked for my N80 and it also worked for my 6680 so it might work on N80 too.

Yes there is, you have to install the certificate in your phone and set it as trusted.

Here is how:
