Hi
I don;t seem to be able to find anyone else who has this problem, but for some reason my N80 won;t remember to keep it;s flash on. Everytime I take a photo it;s usually in a pub or soemthing (don;t worry, the start of the night, so that;s not the answer, he he) and I ALWAYS have to go into the settign and turn the flash on, as it always resets itself to OFF after every photo I take (not just when starting up the camera). Surely there must be a way of stopping this from happening (it;s not on automatic mode).
Thank you for your help.
Is there a way to turn off the light when filming??
You can turn it on by goign to ngith mode, but for soem reason there is no shootin mode that does not have the light on, apart from automatic. Although, why would you want to film black, which is what wud happen durin the nite without the light on (it shouldn;t b on during the day).
Problem solved (ish), Didn;t know about the switching to landscape and macro mode made a difference, but it does. The flower (macro mode apparently) sets it to off by default, and the mountain to Automatic by default. To be honest, I've not used the switch at the back, no idea what it was for, althouh I assume the flower was close up [I assume that is why the flash is set to off, as it's too strong close up] and the mountain was distance [the flash is okay here, although more than a couple of metres away, and they are all dark again as the flash has no distance at all.
Actually, your solution works perfectly well! I read numerous posts saying that often the flash comes AFTER the picture is taken. But after doing your trick, I went to a dark room, took a picture, and lo and behold.....I received a clear image! :icon14:
