Do you think the 9500 will ever had a successor or will the Communicator series be discontinued?
Thanks in advance for your answers.

Yes but it will be Eseries phone based on S60

Same opinion. And E70 / E61 are already in some way, Communicator replacements.
E61 is interesting, but I have had series 80 for 7 years.
So is there a feature of the 9500 - apart from the camera - or of Series 80which the E61/series 60 doesn't have?
And what about the touchscreen. Isn't it missing?
Are E61 and HTC TyTN comparable?

I think that could be the opposite. Apart from camera, and 640 pixel screen, S60 have, now, more potencial of developement than S80. And for me the main difference, is the slow software of S80 / fast software S60 - OS v3.
How can the E70 or E61 possibly be 'replacements' for the communicator series if they lack exactly those features which make the N9300/N9500 unique? I can see the point as a marketing thing (Nokia might want current users of 9300/9500 to switch) but not from a machine replacement point of view. :con?

And, in your opinition, wich are the unique communicator features?
This is a very interesting thread. I'm a 9300 user and I like it so much. However, my heart has been telling me to upgrade to 9300i, but my brain is telling me to wait. It's interesting to know that the "E" series could be the next communicator. Personally, I've never liked the S60 interface and always felt that the S80 is more business oriented, however, I'm willing to give the S60 a chance if it's improved *and* if they are going to give me a keyboard like the one I have on the 9300 now. Otherwise, I need to grab a 9300i before they disappear forever 😊
Series 60 will never catch up with Series 80, and even UIQ3 on SE P990i or WM5.0 on a HTC TyTN are ages ahead.
Nokia usually abandon their fans for several years before putting a new Communicator on the market. This is the painful truth...
And abandonning for ever the Communicator folk is just a shame.
