A hard date at last for the long, soooo long awaited Sony Ericsson P990i, with Expansys quoting this Friday for its arrival. £600 SIM-free though - anyone brave enough to order one?

The P990i lands on Friday
I have had a pre-order with Expansys since late December 05 so we'll see what arrives on Saturday! But for the same price www.theorder.co.uk claim they can get me one for Wednesday - so I have ordered one. Again it'll be interesting to see whcih shop delivers first (ww.mobileshop.co.uk and www.scancom.co.uk are also quoting Friday).

I wish the P990 the best success (if you trace my IP address you will see I have some vested interest 😃 ) but honestly after one year of waiting the geeky factor of this phone is completely gone... the HTC TyTN which comes out these days as well has definitely closed the gap between Symbian phones and Windows Mobile phones in terms of features and connectivity options; it's even HSDPA ready... (whatever that "ready" means!)
edit: and 100 pounds less expensive....
Now delayed to arround 10th August
And delayed and delayed and delayed again.... Another week of "Availability: Estimated 2 days" which the following days becomes "Availability: Estimated 3 days" which the following day becomes "Availability: Estimated 1 day" which the following day becomes "Availability: Estimated 2 days" etc etc etc.
Either Expansys or SonyEricsson or their distribution chain (or all of them) need to put their act together!
Seems like Expansys finally have them.
