Hi I Recently bought a kingston 1gb mmc mobile dual voltage 1.8/3.3v memory card for my n70. I put the card into the phone but the phone just isn't recognising its there. When connected to my pc nokia's file manager doesn't see it there either. This is the second mmc card i've bought that doesn't want to work with my n70. I'm guessing I need to format it in some way so that my phone begins to recognise its there??? Any tips anyone can give me to confirm or deny this?

Cheers,

Nick

The problem could be the kingstom card. I already read is this forum that brand cause failures. But, you could always format the card in an card reader.

Hi Nick,
I too just bought a Kinston Dual Voltage 1 gig Rs MMC Card.
I used the Nokia PC Suite File manager to copy all the info from the card taht came with the phone.
Here How:
- Assuming you have Nokia Suite installed on your PC.
- Make a directory on your PC say "MMC Files"
- Connect your phone to the computer.
- Start Nokia PC suite.
- Locate the MMC card on your phone using the file manager
- Control A (copy) all the files on your original MMC card to the "MMC Files" on your
PC
- Take the old card from your phone and insert the new 1gig card
- uUsing the Nokia PC Suite file manager copy all the files from the "MMC Files"
directory to the new card,
That's it the new card does not need to be formatted.
Mine works a treat
Good Luck
