Some thoughts on N80 and N93

I chose N80 instead of N93 simply because of a trip where I needed a phone of this caliber. If I could have waited, I'd probably chosen N93 instead. It was released a few days ago now. It has a faster processor (314 MHz vs 220 MHz) , a much better camera/video recorder, better battery performance and bluetooth 2.0 (without the N91/N80 bluetooth bug).

But I'd like to remind people of the advantages of N80 over N93, as a consolation (my view of it):

* Much higher screen res: 416 x 352 vs 320 x 240. Important while surfing.
* Clearly smaller and lighter (and prettier!): 136 g vs 180 g
* One more US band, GSM 850, which is missing on N93
* About 100 euro cheeper which can be used for buying your next mobile earlier

Also, N93 (and N80 of course) anyway misses many functions that are due very soon in high end mobiles: HSDPA, DVB-H/DMB/MBMS, 5-6 MPixel camera, the BT A2DP stereo profile and built in GPS. I also think that dual band 3G (1900 US and 2100 EU) and Wimax will become common within a year.

Samsung have already HSDPA! And the operators from here, all of them promote very the HSDPA and Samsung phones. The next phones should have that!
