Putty on N80?

6 replies · 2,896 views · Started 01 August 2006

Has anyone managed to install and launch putty on an N80, i'm pretty sure it wasn't designed for S60 V3 but if someone could test this I would appriciate it.

Cheers,

Jordan

PuTTY is an application that allows you to connect to servers and other computers using the ssh protocol and access the command line. It is used by IT types to maintain servers etc.

Just tried it via telnet to a w2k server box, it connects but doesn't display anything - no prompts for username/pass.

Anyone tried it via wlan?

Thanks for the response, that's good news then....my N80 arrived so I can begin playing around with what does and doesn't work.

putty was my main worry as I really do need access to my servers at all times so that's the main problem overcome.

Good first impression so far, neat little device that reminds me of the 7650 a little, although it has to be said the little rubber joystick part on the 7650 is much better than the plastic offering on the N80.
