I've recently recieved a 2Gb datawrite mrmory card for my N80 drom datakits.co.uk, the card works perfectly fine but occasionally it shows up in the filemanager as empty or the camera says it's not inserted, this is easily remidied by ejecting the card and re-inserting but is becoming a bit of a pain.
Is this a known issue that is or will be fixed with a firmware update or does it sound like a dodgy card?

I use a 1gb SanDisk card and I get the same message once a week at the most...like you say reinserting the card clears the message. I seem to get it after I used the card in a card reader.
I've had same problem yesterday for the first time
I have an 128M memory card and have exactly the same annoying problem. The card just disappeared insidiously from the phone's operating system as if it is not inserted. The memory card is back on removing and reinserting the card, or by turing the phone off and on. I believe it is a bug in the firmware (My N80 firmware is V3.0617.0.6).
The card always disappears at a time when I use the phone after a long period of inactivity, e.g. after leaving the phone overnight. It NEVER disappears when the phone is in active use - i.e. the problem is not a result of a specific sequence of keypad operation.
Try this experiment: Turn the sleep mode on (Settings -> Phone -> Display -> Sleep mode, the default is on). Do not connect the phone to the charger. Lock keypad before you go to sleep. In the next morning unlock the keypad and look if the memory card is still there before you do anything else on the phone. You may need to try for a few days - for some unknown reason the problem is not reliably reproducible.
Use to have this problem
have not had it since upgrading to v4 firmware
Yea..., first do the firmware upgrade, because may resolve the problem.
i've upgraded to 4.xxx and the problem seem to persist
Coul You try the card on another device, like another phone or a DSC?
This also has happened to me, with the 128MB card that came with my N80 in the box,
It's very simple: I had it all the time with v 3 of the firmware. I haven't had it one single time since upgrading to v 4, a little less than one month ago or something.
I had it happen once so far after upgrade to v4..
Copy the content of card to PC, format the card, inside of phone, then copy the content from PC to Card again.
