😮 I have just received my 9500 and looooooove it! But, I cannot for the love of God get my gmail set up!!! I have gmail through outlook so I know the POP forwarding is on. I have a wireless router at home and I have been able to access the web through my 9500, so it should be safe to say the connection settings are correct, right??? So this makes me believe it is somewhere in the email settings that I have an error???? Here is what I have:

GENERAL
email account name: [email protected]
My Name: [email protected]
Username: [email protected]
Password: secret
My email addy: [email protected]
Internet access: my router set up

SERVERS
Email account type: POP3
Outgoing e-mail server: smtp.gmail.com
Incoming e-mail server: pop.gmail.com
Use SMTP authentication: No

(In the above section I have also tried with the settings for smtp auth. as yes and then for the username my gmail addy and for password my gmail password---this also did not work)

ROAMING
change connection automatically: No

ADVANCED
Default email type: HTML
Send email: Immediately
Secure Login (APOP): No
Incoming secure connection: SSL/TLS
Outgoing secure connection: SSL/TLS

I have read and tried everything posted on these forums about gmail and cannot get it!!! I have been trying now for a day and a half and cannot tell you all how frustrated I am!!!! Can someone please please please help me??

Thank you so much in advance---I really appreciate you taking the time 😊

Amanda

Seems correct to me! I had an 9500 (sold 3-2006)... so, I can´t test something new. One way, I use to go to my Gmail account, with S60 phones, and at the time, with 9500, is by Operamini, like a net access. Is not the same I know, but at least is an idea of sollution!

Incoming e-mail server is pop.gmail.com, but if you get an error while receiving e-mail try pop.googlemail.com 🙄
Worked for me.
Outgoing smtp server should be the smtp server of your mobile connection.
I use smtp.mobiel.net for KPN in the Netherlands 😊
