Biggest problems with N80 is crap abttery life, less than 24 hours with normal smartphone use, maybe you will get 2 days using just as phone, the camera as also a letdown
If you can put up with this then go for it.
Works satisfactory for me in almost every other aspect.
If you wait for the next best thing you will always be waiting.
Dont know too much about the sony you are talking about so cant compare.
i odnt mind the battery i can always just get 2 batteries lol, but the camra, is it that bad that it takes pics like a 2mpx or its just slow and stuff?
How can you talk about a ghost like N83, or which goes to be the name! Beter is always the next, even if that next is from 50 years ahead, like N830😎 .
Hiya,
Main problem with the camera is no auto focus, so taking sharp, focused pics is really hit or miss.
Also, there is a lot of noise in low light conditions as it doesnt have a proper flash and nokia seem to like to overprocess their images imho.
Overall apart from the crappy battery i am happy with the phone. The N83 has the potential to be an awesome phone when its out, but the keywords here are "when its out" 😉
ut.
N80 - tis a good phone with lots of good features, spoilt slightly by poor battery life.
so overall what should i do?
1 wait for n83?
2 buy the n80?
i also got a question can the camara issues be solved by an firmware upgrade it it ever comes out? lol
Thanks
Kyle.
I doubt. Nokia havent release any firmware upgrade yet and its been 3 months. and alot of people are complaining about the minor glitches.
If you're a massive texter, sending a minimum of 150 messeges per day, you'll be pissed about the lag when sending messages. it freezes for 20secs. battery life sucks also.
your right , i have heard too much bad stuff about the n80 but on the other hand the n73 looks Awsome and thats what i call a 3.2 camara, i think im gunna go with the n73!
go for the N73 if you don't want wifi

Yea ..I bought the N80 mostly because of the wifi because I am out and about alot and need to be connected to the internet several times a day, which is easy in the city I live because many restaurants and pubs and clubs have free hotspots.
If it wasnt for the wifi I may have considered the sony as the camera was second on my list because for my work I do sometimes have to take photo's.
Evereything else with my N80 works fine...so I am mostly happy.
the n73 is a good tho right?
Yea... Its just a phone! Buy an N73 (today I have with one - very impressed:icon14: ). If You dont like, sell, and buy another one.
I've heard reports that even the Carl Zeiss N73 Camera is dissapointing

I had an N73 for 4 days (sent it back because Vodafone signal was zero at my workplace). From my limited testing, I didn't think the Carl Zeiss optics made any difference between the N73 and N80 cameras.
I agree with others though...
If you want Wi-Fi buy an N80
If you don't need Wi-Fi buy an N73.
The are both the most up to date and fully featured Nokias in the current range.
