how do you download files?

Using the n80 browser, is there anyway to download files?
If I try to download say a zip file it just shows a load of gobbledy-gook.
Or say .jad and .jar files? Straight to the phone?
Or would opera broswer do this?
Thanks
Laurie

The server that hosts the .zip file must send the correct MIME type for the file, and the browser will then launch the application which has installed a, so called, recognizer to manage/handle such file types (e.g., ZipManager).

If there is no recognizer, and/or if the web site does not send the correct MIME type, the built-in browser will simply take its default action, which is opening whatever content it doesn't know how to handle in the Notes text editor.

Opera is better in this respect.

So does this mean that if I use ZipManager I will be able to download zip files?
Thanks
Laurie
