Had to dig this up again...

Why bother playing 320x240 res videos on the n80... when theyre going to get stretched and distorted to achieve fullscreen?!
I have done plently of encoding in 320x240 and the video quality is good, but nothing like the quality when playing FULL SCREEN Divx movies.
Ive converted cartoons with large areas of colour, and 90% of the time they would normally look terrible... blotchy areas of colour and distorted lines... but when using SmartMovie... they look DVD Quality. Totally faultless...
No I dont work for them, nor am i getting commission... but I have purchased Smartmovie myself and and absolutley love it!
Another big advantage is conversion time. Converting using they software converts to a .avi file... MUCH MUCH faster than all of the .3gp convertors i have used.
Episode of an unnamed yellow charactered cartoon takes only a few minutes.

Forget it Smartmovie framerates are fundamentally unstable
Use MP4/AVC instead
I had to bring this up for Super
4Site wrote:Those settings you all posted should work but the problem is you are recommending the lower quality MPEG4 H.263 /3GP codecs which are great as they work but why use them when the N80 supports the higher quality MPEG4 H.264 Codec.Try these settings and let me know if the quality isnt better
Output Container = mp4(MPEG-4)
Output Video Codec = H.264/AVC
Output Audio Codec = AAC----------------
{ Video Settings }
----------------Video Scale Size = 320x240
Frame/Sec = 15
Bitrate kbs = 336-------
[Options]
-------Hi Quality = Checked
H264 Profile = Baseline 1.2----------------
{ Audio Settings }
----------------Sampling Freq = 44100
Channels = 2
Bitrate = 64 (or higher)Audio settings are pretty much anything goes but video settings are difficult to get right but you could experiment with higher bitrates see if they work for you.
The resolutions might be smaller but the motion is more smoother with no frame dropping and greater detail.
ive never had a problem with framerates... always good
