Contacts Sort Order

Not sure if this has been dealt with already. But the one really annoying thing I find with my N70 is that there appears to be no way to adjust the contact sort order when sending/receiving SMS's. I've been able to change the sort order in the contacts list from last name to first name. But when Sending a SMS it is always last name order. Has anyone been able to solve this or is there an app available to change it?

Thanks

Sean

No app to change it. The setting in Contacts is not "global" as it only applies to the Contacts app (otherwise it would be a setting in Settings, instead of a setting in Contacts, I presume).

I've been wishing this too, and I can only hope it will be addressed some day. However, I wouldn't expect it for any existing device (released version of S60).

Actually, there is a way but it's a bit of a fudge and a fiddle.

In your Contacts, just enter your first names as last name details and vice versa.

Then change the display to show Last name first, which will actually show First names first 🙄

You'll now have your SMS mailboxes showing names in the correct order to match the Contacts list.

Like I say, bit of a fiddle, but you only need to update your Contacts once, new contacts can be added in the same manner and at the end of the day, as you can reverse the contacts display anyway it matters not which comes first.

Or last.

Yes, but not reasonable.

Depends on how bothered he is about getting his display right.

Time and effort vs irritability

It's a suggested workaround, it's not prescriptive.
