Retrieving contacts

Hi, Ive just recieved my 3230 from a firmware upgrade. So, when I went to put my SIM card back into the phone, it did not show me my contacts (or previous settings). I understand that this information is located in the internal memory (I think) so its a matter of getting it back. Also, when I go into "SIM directory" it just shows a voicemail and customer care contact.

On a 3230 all the contacts shown (except those shown when you go into "SIM directory"😉 are in phone memory. When you reformat a phone or have the firmware updated, then all the contacts in phone memory are lost.

They can be restored, if before the firmware update you synchronized the contacts with a PC and Outlook (for example) using Nokia PC Suite, or if you used PC Suite to back them up to a PC. If so, you can resynchronize with the PC or restore the PC Suite backup.

They can also be restored, if you backed them up to a memory card using the menu option for that in the "Memory" app on the phone.

You could also have saved numbers from Contacts one-by-one with the menu option for that ("Copy to SIM direct."😉.

If you didn't save/back up the contacts yourself somehow, and if the repair center where your phone was flashed didn't do it either, then I'm afraid they are gone for good.
