Hi,
I've got a Nokia E61 with 1GB Kingston mini SD card. I have a number of probelms.
a) I have Acrobat reader Lite installed, but it can't read big files of sizes as small as 8 meg (comes up with the message, not enough memory). If it is below 1 meg, no problems. It has got 1GB card, apart from the in-built memory. I don't know why this message keeps coming up.
b) I don't have a video player which can play wmv, mpeg etc. I do have a real one player, but it doesn't play any of my PC video files. I have downloaded smartmovie and it wouldn't install into my phone for some reason.
c) I tried installing the tomtom navigator software for symbian S60, but it keeps saying, "The application is not supported", even though my phone is running Symbian S60. This is not the only software it came up with this message. I tried installing smartmovie for symbian S60 and it still wouldn't install it. Is there a special settings which I can change to get these programs installed? or is there a firmware upgrade of some sort?
Please help me. I am tired of getting this phone working for my needs.
a. The memory limitation, is RAM memory, I think (I dont have an E61 to try) not card memory;
b. The smartmovie or another program, must be S60 v3 compatible, and not an old version;
c. The same as b., but is for sure a pirate program, because Tomtom navigator 5 doesnt exist for S60 v3 (E61) but for S60 v2 version. And read the forum rules...

This message means that there's isn't enough RAM left to open your PDF file. This has nothing to do with storage memory (your memory card). The E61 has around 24MB of free RAM available when it starts. As you launch more and more applications, the amount of free RAM decreases until there isn't enough left to launch another application or open a file and you get this message. Try to close all the applications running in the background (press and hold the menu key to see them, then select one and press the 'C' key to close it) and try to open your PDF file again. If you still get this message, then this means that your PDF file is too large to be opened on the E61 with its rather limited amount of RAM.

Don't bother with Smartmovie. You can use a free software called SUPER to convert your PC movie to a format that can be played with RealPlayer on your phone. It works a treat. Search this forum for instructions on how to use it.

The E61 is running the latest version of S60 (3rd edition) which is not compatible with software developped for previous versions. Developers need to update their applications to make them compatible with these new devices. Smartmovie has a version for S60 3rd edition devices such as the E61 (have a look on their web site) but Tom-Tom does not yet have one. Have a look here: http://www.handango.com/ampp/store/PlatformHome.jsp?siteId=308&jid=DEE5278834824FXFD33F5B21X545BD62&platformId=4&osId=918 for a list of software compatible with your phone.
Hello, Thanks a lot to all the good hearts who replied to my post. I am very sorry for not getting back to this page. I didn't know that I had replies until today. I was thinking that I will get notified by email if there was a reply to my post. Never mind. Anway, it is very disappointing to know that I have to put up with the limitations I have with my phone.
