Hello. I have a Nokia 6670 and I wanted to create a backup today, but I cannot.
I first tried to create a backup on the memory card. It starded, wenta about 20% and then the phone restarted. Tried that 2 more times, same thing.
I tried backing up on pc, with both bluetooth connection and cable. I get an error message : "Backup definition cannot be read from the phone. The current task cannot be completed". I tried again to copy on MMC but this time the bar copying stops at around same 20% and it dissappears, leaving the Memory Card menu, from which i cannot exit. Nor does it work to close it by accesing the tasks list. Rest of phone works ok, but exept that I cannot close the memory task.
I tried with contents copier and selecting calendar, contacts and notes doesn't work either. I tried and managed to copy these 3, one at a time.
But I still need to backup the text messages from the phone.
I also tried accesing the the phone throught the phone browser, I see there Nokia 6670, but when I double click it says that the operation cannot be completed.
Please, can anyone help me create a backup of what I have on the phone? I need contacts, calendar, messeges(text plus MMS, no emails on phone), notes, to-do list.
Any ideas please?
cannot create back-up or acces phone contents
You have some memory conflit provoqued for a faulty installation. Try to remove one by one the last programs, untill find the faulty one.
nj7,
I have removed most of the apps I have on the phone, and I will remove them all if I have to.
The thing is that I don't remember installing any app since the last back-up. I might have uninstalled some, but I am almost certain that I didn't install anything.
Do you think that there might be another cause?
Could it be missing a file or something considering that when I try the backup from the phone suite on the computer it says that it cannot find the back-up definitions?
A soft format could resolve that, but without the backup you lost everything. Try a backup by independent programs, loke contact transfer, for contacts, Arcmsg for messages, and svcal for calendar (that one is not free).
hey,
I backed up the calendar and contacts with the content transfer...
is Arcmsg a program used for backing up messages? I can't seem to find anything about it...
please...a little more help!
