Check this out:
Using Super Encoder.
For tests i used movie trailers and adverts. This also enables thumbnails in gallery. Sound is lovely to boot. Runs at 25 fps just fine.
Why do you choose 352 x 288? Real Player is capable of showing 416 x 352 (vertical screen) if you adjust the settings (or simply press "2"😉.
If the video is 352 x 288 and you then run it with the vertical screen, then you change the ratio somewhat (so people in the screen look thinner).
Do you have factual experience from the weak processor or did you simply forget about the vertical screen setting? If the processor is too weak, another possibility is to lessen number of fps. Would 15 fps look akward? 20?
My experience is that yes, 352 x 288 and 25 fps, is on the limit of the processor capacity (usually works, but not always). I haven't tried 416 x 352 yet, because I simply followed your settings.

352x288 is the maximum real player will play. when it plays in full screen it is just resizing the lower res video, so it looks a bit dodgy
