Hi, can anybody tell me if you can change the settings from km to miles in wayfinder, superb sat nav i think for the N80, Ive tried to-day and you can have free trial for 5 days, looks great and hope somebody can answer the above, also where do you download all the pois and speed cams from, This looks the way to go untill tomtom mobile release a symbian series 3rd edition.

Brian

On the main screen (Map/Find/Favs/Services) Press options, and scroll down to Settings.

These are all the settings for the app, press right to goto next settings tab (Route)

Here is the setting your need to change!

The speed cameras etc i dont think work in the demo, but full version has them.

In the demo mine shows up all sorts like Petrol stations, Clubs, Stations, WiFi Hotspots < Usefull!

Hi, thats brill, thankyou for that, also i have the 5 day trial version of wayfinder 6 and am wondering when it runs out where can i buy in the uk, ie i only have PAYPAL or Visa Electron card and the wayfinder website does not take any of theese !!! i have been doing a google search all night and cant find any one who sells the wayfinder 6 in uk, if they do its on an mmc card which is no good for me as i have a nokia N80 With mini sd, Anyway it looks a good sat nav as ive been used to using tomtom mobile etc,

Also the orange shops that are selling WAYFINDER , is that the wayfinder 6 , and i see you have to pay 1 pd per week !!! whats that all about ?

Any answers on the above id be greatfull and feedback on wayfinder either from the orange shop and need to no if its wayfinder 6 ?

once it runs out, it will have a link on the program on your phone, and it will open to a purchasing page.

Theres various different packages but I just bought UK&Ireland, $99.

Once i entered my debit card info, it was instantly unlocked... (and it enabled speedcamera icons and warnings!)

GazP, are you running the latest firmware now? Wayfinder working ok?

Did you buy via the trial install? (Wayfinder haven't updated their compatibility index yet).

no im still on the previous firmware, works fine.

will let you know once ive flashed, but dont have time over the next few days to do it.

No worries - I'm waiting on a response from Wayfinder asking them to confirm compatibility with the new firmware (and for pricing info on Traffic and Safety Cameras). Not doing anything until I get my GPRS bill for my Wayfinder trial period anyways.

taz .. sorry mate, im a bit confused, have you upgraded to f/w 4?
Not that it has any relevance, just wondering 😊
I'm getting tomtom for my N70 until and just hoping I can upgrade it with a patch to work with the N80

Yes I have Laurie - life on the bleeding edge for me 🙄
I'm pretty confident that Wayfinder will be compatible as my tests with various GPS software (Nav4All, 3dTracking) have been problem free, but I'm just hedging my bets.

BTW I gave Navicore a prod yesterday and they've updated their Product Selector in their web shop so we can now buy Navicore Personal for N80's equipped with the new firmware.

At the moment it's a toss-up for me between Navicore and Wayfinder; Route 66 don't seem to offer speed camera updates and TomTom don't do a software only package. I already have a GPS receiver (Holux GPSSlim 236) and a 2gb miniSD.

Wayfinder have yet to respond to my queries about pricing on Speed cameras and Traffic Info which isn't doing them any favours in my eyes. Navicore files weigh in at a total of 140mb so the impact on my miniSD storage won't be too great, and offer free camera and traffic updates (over GPRS) which is encouraging. I also only want minimal voice prompts as my car's equipped with a Parrot Rhythmn n Blue stereo which includes a Bluetooth handsfree - makes the voice prompts easy to hear but Wayfinder's repeated instructions interfere with my music too much lol.

Just heard back from Wayfinder (2 days too late for them as I've purchased another GPS package), but in case anyone else is interested:

  • They are compatibility testing with the new N80 firmware version and will update their website when completed.
  • Traffic Information service costs 24.90 EUR annually
  • Speed Camera Service costs 34.99 EUR annually.
