got the new firmware, where are the new features?

I have just done the upgrade and I can not find anything new either.
Well apart from the PTT icon.

I was after the search and anti virus but can not find them.

Can anyone else???

I have discovered the problem. You have to have the newset Pheonix 2006_20_9_148 installed. I flashed 3 times with an older build it was still 2006 but the new features never appeared. But I started from scratch following the BB5 Reaper 2006 ( Google search it ) guide and now all the features have installed and the phone seems quicker. Video camera is still crap though.

i just tried with new phoenix, still same 😞

ahhh, theres that adobe pdf reader, and more, the anti virus, quickoffice, theres a wireless keyboard thing under connectivity, catalog which retrieves a list of software for the phone which i guess you can download/purchase, and mayb more stuff i havent discovered yet ;p

same spot with all your other games an applications, all the new applications are in the application manager so you can uninstall anything from there.

Hi all,

The Anti-Virus is only a 2 week Trial, after that it's �24.95 for a 1 Year Sub.

To be fair, the virus scanner still works after the 2 weeks, you just can't get any updates from the server. The server records the IMEI number of the phone, so you can just uninstall and reinstall to get another 2 weeks trial.

u need to use the new phoenix and folow the bb5 reaper guide, leave the fw packd in the .exe file for now, just b4 ur ready to flash and ur n80 is conected to phoenix double click the .exe firmware file and alow it to unpack it into phoenix folder on C, then at the top of the phoenix app theres a white bar, click the dropdawn arrow next to it then sellect EURO 1 or what ever FW u wana use, it automaticly selects the files to flash the n80! it shud select 3 files and they will apear in the white boxes on the phoenix display! press start, thats it! u shud now have the extra pack of apps etc!

i notice when i connect the N80 to my pc i got a new option called media player, what does that do?

i know what i was doing wrong now, i didnt choose a product code from the drop down box, i chose EURO 1 smooth stainless (or something close to that) now it seems faster and i had the extra apps, but uninstalled them anyway 😊
