Help - restore following firmware upgrade

Decided to try new firmware upgrade using Nokia Software Updater (was getting 'a procesar' message with Gallery and this is supposed to be resolved with latest) - convenient to not have to drop off phone somewhere!

Followed instructions i.e. used PCSuite to take a backup of the phone memory first - memory card mainly contains music, videos, etc. and all applications (e.g. FExplorer) are installed in the phone memory.

Firmware update appears to have worked however, when I restore using PCSuite Content Copier, under Status it shows '100% complete - Full backup' but only offers the Cancel button (if selected, comes up with 'Restore was cancelled. Only partial content was transferred to phone. Please try again.'

Also, I appear to have lost all my installed themes, applications (e.g. FExplorer), etc. - are these not backed up/restored?

The backup / restore process by card is usually the best process. Something seem not to be correct with your phone. Maybe... try a new processo again. And see the FAQ section on Nokia Site.

Hi nj7!

Phone rebooted by itself after restores but when I switched off (and had to enter PIN), FExplorer showed up but e.g. Opera and themes are gone?!

Also operation is erratic e.g. select themes and just shows Tools menu oitems again ... or sometimes Active Standby screen is blank?!

Will try firmware upgrade again!

Reinstall gives warning that software is already up to date - do you wish to reinstall?

Also warns of potential problems if cable disconnected during update - I think mine was not a perfect connection because first backup stopped due to bad connection and had to do again! Hopefully, reinstalling may resolve ... currently updating:frown:

Yea.. I know. I go to the Nokia Discussions Site regulary. But that process is not the best for me. I have also problems when use PCSuite.
Try use a individual programs for each backup, like Contact Manager and others.
Well, but your problem is the backup / restore of all phone:frown:
When that happens, usually is that some software installed are with conflit, Search one by one!

OK - decided that as phone memory was wiped clean with firmware upgrade, will just reinstall FExplorer and Opera ... my settings appear to have restored fine!🙄
