Just a quick poll. I've been finding AAS pages very slow to load recently (I'm on UK ISP Easynet) but Rafe's had no problems with access through his ISP in the East of England.
If anyone else is having problems with site speed, could they post here with details? e.g. ISP being used, browser being used, symptoms seen? Thanks.
As a guide, when I try and load the front page of AAS, there's a delay of up to six seconds before anything happens, then the text is gradually loaded, followed sequentially by the various elements, until the page is finally complete, with toolbar drop-downs, at around 25 to 30 seconds. Is anyone else seeing the same? Or is it blindingly fast for you? Rafe and I are somewhat stumped by the problem.....

Hi Steve,
Here on My WinXP Pro SP2 in Holland (provider Planet) the loading of the Home page is fast. First about 3 seconds nothing and then Wham! The whole page is there. This is a 6Mb adsl line.

Connection: Vodafone 3G Card; AAS not particularly slow:con?
I've had no problems whatsoever, I'm with DNA's broadband service in Finland. I have a 512k connection and the entire AAS site loads very quickly.
Maybe it's just your local ISP slitchfield?

I always have the AAS home page, Eseries forum and N80 forum open in tabs of my firefox (I never close firefox and only restart my PC when it's getting too slow, that is, every few days) and refresh them from time to time whenever i want to see if there is anything new. I have also noticed that the AAS pages take an awful lot of time to refresh lately (for 3 or 4 days maybe). It must take a good 20-30 seconds most of the time for a full refresh although it's sometimes lightning fast as it used to be.
(i like this quick edit thing a lot by the way, it's kinda cool)
Interesting, Rafe, so it's definitely not a browser thing, but dependent on ISP/network. It seems some networks are throttling connections to AAS - but why? All other sites seem fine. There's something about AAS that's different. Any experts out there in this sort of thing?
Steve
I've noticed this too but thought it was something to do with teething after the Sunday server switchover, so didn't mention it. But yes - exactly as you describe Steve and still doing it.

Should be fixed now, log files were getting too large. Can you confirm it's faster for you as well?
Steve
Yes I can. Much quicker. Nice one.

Just wanted to thank very one for the various reports. Helped eliminate some issues.
Hopefully this is the last of the bedding down issues with the new sever and things should be much faster now, especially at peak times (middle of the day to early afternoon UK time).
Maybe Im not very demanding, but I didnt note great change, neither for slow, neither for fast. I do de navigation also, always with 5 /8 open windows. When Im reading one, yhe other have time to open... But improvements for fast are always good thing😊
