The phone is compatible with 802.11b networks.
Are these hotspots paidfor services or open networks?, I do not need to use paidfor networks but have successfully connected to open networks and sent/received email, voip, surfed, streamed media.
ok, well i use my laptop on some of these sites in the web address and most are free.
i wanted to know if i bought the n80 will i be able to use 802.11b Wi-Fi connections, as the nokia site only says....802.11g.
does the n80 have a feature that you can change from a setting of ...802.11g Wi-Fi to 802.11b Wi-Fi, option on it, that would be great. so if some one can verify that please DO.
N80 is 802.11g so it will not work with 802.11b, I tried to connect at starbucks that has 802.11b 11Mbs and it didn't work.
I thought 802.11g was backwards compatible with 11b as standard?
Yes it is, I've connected to both sort of access points with my N80
