Hi all! Sorry to bug all of you with the same old problem again, but I have a MSI bluetooth adapter and I can't get it to work... I have the v3.12 and I will upgrade as soon as I can, but by doing that I loose all the data on the phone, right? I have lots of photos (most of the memory) that I would't like to loose, so if someone could give me as idea... The PC finds my phone, I create a new connection, it asks me for a password, the phone too, I use the same, then Windows displays the message "The Bluetooth Serial Port connection failed: The Remote device closed the connection". I cant't use data suite, nor send/get anything to/from the phone... Any idea would be very appreciated (I'm getting kindda desperate). BTW, in my old laptop I could connect the 7650 by IR with no problems... But now I don't have it anymore, so I tried it with my roommate's laptop and it doens't word. Windows finds the phone, but the conenction keeps breaking up... I never bothered much with it because I was waiting for the BT, but now nothing works... Anyway... Thanks in advance!
More bluetooth problems... :(
One small detail here
You should have the pc suit running (open) before try connecting to serial port.
The error(as you mentioned) saying the connection failed is normal.
You should now see the "connector" icon on m router flashing (takes a couple of seconds). Once it has turned to colour, u will have connected on PC Suit.
As regards sending other files, once u get the error message of failed connection, you are ready. To send from pc to phone, rightclick on file and send to bluetooth, or drag and drop file to Publicfolder in your phone in BT neighbourhood. Sending from phone to pc is too straighforward. Just send via bluetooth
Hope that helps
Goodluck 😊
PS: What OS are you on PC? Some have experienced problems connecting to PCSuit on Win XP
The information you have given is quite sketchy, did u try to pair the devices since the pc has found your bluetooth connection witht the phone?

Reduce the transfer (baud) rate to 9600 on the IR settings. Then there will be no breaking up etc.

Good i dint see this fix for Infrared erlier on 😃 😃 . Or i'd never had Bluetooth. The infra never connected for more than a few sec. So i returned it and got a BT
😊 😊
In Greece we say "Kathe embodio se kalo" which means every obstacle can lead to something good. Well BT over IR is surely something good. Be glad you can enjoy BT's features like, browsing th net from your phone sharing your internet connection lying on bet, controlling winamp etc 😉
It certainly is good!! Infact..i had bought the infra halfheartedly, only because of the price difference (pretty high here in Sydney).
When it dint work, i was only too glad it dint work 😃 😃
Thanks to all the people who tryed to help. I tryed pairing the devices, that's when I get the error. Like sanjay2402 said it was normal, i tried to open Mrouter and start selecting and unselecting all virtual com ports and finally it connected to COM5 (BTW, i am using winXP)
About the IR, I already tryed decreasing the baus rate like you said MaleBuffy, but it didn't work. My Roommate has a 8310, and he had the same problem, and he tryed reducing the baud rate and worked for him... I tryed lots of different speeds and none worked. :/
Al least now I have my 2 months of photos in the laptop, so I can upgrade the software!! 😃 I think I can get the vodafone live updade for free, anybody knows what software version does it have?
4.36
Very short answer 😊 Sorry!
mine have no problem at all... i used msi bluetooth, firmware 3.12 and winxp. try to download new driver software on your msi bluetooth and you'll do somechanges on the regedit, on acceptothers try to chang eit to 1 from 0, try to search the threads in the forum, i forgot it.
1. first of all erase all existing paired device for assuring no conflict is made, make a bluetooth serial connection (then the computer will find the device you are connecting right? if it is found already it is in the drop down list)
2. it will ask for a name ( i use mj ) when the computer ask you to input a pass key try to enter any number that you memorize or something in mind, ( i use 1 ) then the connection is finished.
3. try to connect or paired your phone to your computer, (got ot connection --> bluetooth --> paired device) , it will ask you for a pass key, try to enter the passkey you enter before, then try to authorized it (select on device pair --> option --> Set as authorised)
then the phone and pc is now officially paired
4. then go to my bluetooth places, double click the bluetooth serial connection ( i use mj on this) then sometimes it will prompt you a an error, wait for about 5 - 10 sec, you will notice in the entire bluetooth nieghborhood (try to click folder explorer) your device with red arrow will become green and you mrouter will have an activity and then connected
5. that's all! you can now open your pc suite then try to synchronize
A already managed to connect to PCsuite, finally. But I still get the error when I tryed pairing the devices. I can also send files to the phone, but I can't view what's in the phone... Can we only see what's in the folder "My Documents"?
