Orange Sidebar keeps coming back!

8 replies · 2,848 views · Started 24 August 2006

Updated my UK Orange N70 using the nokia.co.uk/softwareupdate updater last night. The new firmware allows me to turn the stupid Orange sidebar off.

However, it comes back seemingly at random. Often, if I install software - I just installed PC Suite support on the phone, and when I finished the installation, the sidebar was back. Aaargh!

Anyone else been seeing this problem?

This is doing my head in. I turned the phone on this morning and the sidebar was back. So I switched it off and the phone restarted. Then I connected it to the PC, and when I disconnected it the bloody sidebar was back!

AAARGH 😡

Carl,

Err, nope, I've power cycled my handset numerous times and the Orange Homescreen remains firmly switched off. I've even had the battery out too.

Carl,

I've got the same version, V5.0616.2.0.3 Orange variant firmware.

However, I haven't used PC Suite to connect to or backup the phone.
