No, I haven't 'defected', but I do believe in giving credit where credit's due. My Smartphones Show 14 video podcast is now out and has a review of the impressive Windows Mobile-powered HTC TyTN; on the Symbian front, I look forward to the Smartphone Show next month.

Um, don't you mean in October?
Isn't it September yet? Well, nearly. 8-)

I have had two HTX TyTN's which are Vodafone branded and both had keyboard problems, also the first had a very poor quality display and unsensitive screen. Theses are known problems with a certain batch (s/n HT630 onwards are okay). Also the other problem I found was that with PowerSave enabled if you need to make a call you need to select the power button to re-start the device before you can make a call. However, unlike the HTC Universal there is little delay between a incoming call and you being alerted to by the device.
I've just returned my Orange SPV M3100 (a sexier-looking version of the TYTN) because I just coudn't live with the thing going sleep on me and then not waking up properly. I had it a week, loved the keyboard and messaging apps but the phone side of the device is truly flakey. I have reverted to my P900 for the mo as it just works. Waiting for the E61 on Orange I guess. I wish someone could license and develop UIQ on the TYTN platform... ha ha
