has anyone successfully configure their notebook or computer to use Nokia 7650 GPRS via MSI Bluetooth? Please inform. Thank you.
GPRS using MSI BT
Yes, I have, it was no problem, installer asks you if you want to install for Desktop or Laptop and assumes that laptop users will be dialling via the BT Dongle.
The MSI site says it has an operating range up to 200m. So is it possible to connect with the 7650 from a distance up to 200m ?

No, even if the MSI dongle had such a power, the 7650 hasnt!
If we have two BT USB, one with Class 1 and other with Class 2, what is the range that they can work together?
To acheive the 100m of the Class 1 do we need to have two Class 1's?
But doesn't the dongle like send its radio waves to a distance of 200 meters or whatever it claims and then the 7650's radio waves would meet with the dongle's waves at that point ? You know what I mean ?
The BT connection must be 2way, i think. So it wont work.
ok bye

For BT connection both devices must be able to connect to each other. So every device must be possible to send it's waves to second device. If your 7650 has range 10 meters and MSI dongle 100 meters, then maximal range is 10 meters. Theoretically it can be possible to receive data with 7650 at longer distance, but practically not, because BT devices need 2way connection. So it's not possible to just receiving data without possibility to send data.
Life example : Two people are in country and one is speaking very soft and second very loud. When they will have 1km distance between them, then the loudone can speak and second will hear him, but when the softspeakingone will speak, second one won't hear him.
Hope you had understand, because it's difficult for me to express my thoughts in english.
