E60, E70 & E61 - SMS 'To:' field — Nokia Eseries S60 3.0 phones (E50, E60, E62, E61, E61i, E70)

Just got my hands on an E60 and seem to have found an absurd omission which is present on both the E61 and E70 (and I regarded as a great new feature over the N70). Start the process of creating a new SMS and with the E61/70 you can start typing a name in the 'To:' field then carry on with the body of the text. When you come to Send, the phone checks Contacts and makes you offers of matches which you choose from. When you start typing in the E60 it just returns numbers.

Come to think of it, maybe it wasn't present in the E70. (If that's the case, it's a feature of just the E61.) I've sold my E70 now so can't check. Anyone?

When the focus is in the "To:" field, a long press of the '#' key will switch between number (123) and text (Abc) entry modes.

works fine here, both numbers and text. and it also remembers the setting for future use.

Thanks folks. Must play more before posting. Or read the manual. I guess you know how it is - been using Symbian for so long you think you know all these type of tricks!
