Nokia E70 US Version

Just wondering if anyone knows when the US E70 is scheduled for release? I really want to buy this phone and im getting impatient waiting for the US version 😊 Any information would be greatly appreciated!

I just recently bought the Brittish version and it works great. I use it with Cingular Wireless. The only difference is that the US version will have 850 MHz instead of 900 MHz. Cingular has enough 1900 MHz that I haven't noticed a difference. I called them before I bought it.

Regards

I bought an E60 back in May and it doesn't have the 850 MHz band either (just 900, 1800, and 1900) and I'm with Cingular and have not noticed any reduced service from my old phone which had the 850 MHz band. That said, I think you should buy the unlocked European version of the E70 because I expect Cingular to limit the potential of this great phone. I know that the E62 (the US version of the E61) which will also be with Cingular will not have either 3G or WiFi. I'm not certain if the US version of the E70 will have similar limitations but I'd be surprised if it didn't.

There is a Nokia E70-2 w/ the 850 for the US.

Unfortunately, not a lot of info.

I'm sure you know this by now, but it's been out since about the time you posted. So far, Nokia is only selling it in their flagship stores in Chicago and New York, but you can also find them on eBay. No carrier has picked them up, and maybe none will.

Specs wise, they are mostly like the Euro version, but swapping 850 for the 900 band, and dropping the 2100 UMTS band. WiFi remains. Also, the US version loses the bundled 64MB MiniSD card (although with 1GB cards going for $20, this isn't such a big deal).

Definitely the best smartphone I've ever owned...
