Hey everyone! School is about to start back up in a week or so and I always treat myself to something that will help me over the next year. Sometimes a computer, a digital camera, etc. This year I'm thinking new mobile phone. While Blackberries are really cool, I'm an S60 guy; my N70 rocks my world. But I want something more for messaging. Anyway, I IM a lot and would like to know if I can use any of the IM functions of the E61 via a WiFi connection rather than staying connected to the wireless web?
Two, I'm new to S60 v.3 and would like to know if any of you would have some last minute win-me-over-to-the-E61 thoughts for how a student might use this over my beloved N70. Thanks!!! 😎
E60+BT keyboard 😉
there is Agilemessenger for Symbians. I dont do chat much, but it seems like a good IM application, that can connect to several messengers accounts.

You can certainly use
Agile Messenger over a WiFi connection. It's still in a preview release state for S60 3rd Edition, and there are a few display bugs on the E61, but it's very usable.

I'm planning to use
Psiloc Extended Recorder to record lectures on my E61 when term starts again.
Also, don't forget that these phones can open PowerPoint slides - very handy for revision, and for looking to see what's coming up in later parts of lectures.
Most of the above would be difficult (if not impossible) on a Blackberry.
Oh, and reading Slashdot's RSS feed is more interesting than some of my lectures...
Hope this helps.
