The P990i doesnt sell in us cellular companys so we dont get any deals on the phone, but at ebay the minimum you can find it for is 900usd and if you buy from an online store its 1000 or more. Does anyone know of a way to get a cheaper P990i from a legitimate store because I have been almsot ripped off so many times by those frauds on ebay with there western union and money transfers.
Is it possible to get a P990 below 900 usd

It is? Where? I check last week and it was around 45k. (US$1000)
Have you got it? Are you happy with it?
no i have not yet bought it, but i will be buying it this week as soon as i sell my Blackberry 8700c. But some of my friend have bought it at even Rs.53000/- but the phones more stable after the firmware upgrade, but still a bit flaky, it restarts for no reason atleast once or twice a day.
Other than that the phones a rock... everything works perfectly & the business card scanner is simply bliss, works like a charm. Its fasther than the P910i & feels more robust.
BTW you can go to Heera Panna in mumbai & go to the shop GADGETS, you'll get it there.
also , Airtel in India has started the Push Email service for WM05 based phones, so i'm now going to see the differences between buying a symbian based phone or a WM phone. though my sights are set on symbian, still i just want to way the pro's & cons between the P990i & the TyTn (jasjam / vario II, hermes)....
Ony thing is that blackberry service costs Rs.100 less for unlimited data every month & i can configure 10 emails on my blackberry & only 6 emails with Push Email on WM05 based phones.
Plus i'm already sure that the P990i has a better battery life than any WM based phones. Plus i like the P990i's looks...
So lets see...

Thanks for the detailed mail. in my limited exp, WM based phones (much like their PC software) are so resource hungry that the hardware has to be unnecessarily overengineered to give reasonable speed and battery life. I too have been tempted by the O2Atoms and Jasjams but have been able to resist so far. But the wait for P990 has been too long and at 40-45k, I don't think its worth it esp when the m600 is 18k. I would think a laucnh price of 35k settling somewhere bet 30 and 35 would have been right..
