E60 and Nav4All

I just bought the Holux GPSlim 236 from Nav4All and have installed their software on my Nokia E60 phone. The software works fine (except for the voice which does not work at all) when I connect to the Internet via wifi (i.e. from my driveway) but not when I try to connect via GPRS (my service provider in the USA is Cingular). The GPRS settings that I use to access the Internet (Web & email) will not connect with Nav4All to download the map data. I went to their web site and tried the settings they listed for Cingular in the USA but they don't work either. The settings that I'm using are as follows:

Access Point Name (APN): isp.cingular
Username: [email protected]
Password: CINGULAR1
IP: assigned
DNS 1: 66.209.10.201
DNS 2: 66.209.10.202

I also tried [email protected] after a Cingular operator suggested it, however it didn't work either. Has anyone gotten Nav4All to work in the USA with Cingular? If so, please post your GPRS settings. Thanks,

Mark

Sorry I don't have any answers for you but how does the 236 compare to the 240? Do they all include software needed to link them to the e70? Thanks for your help and I hope you got it figured out since you posted this several months ago.

Yes, the current (new) software works fine. I'm not familiar with the 240 but the 236 works very well; I have no complaints at all. It pairs very easily with my E60. As for the software, it's free; you download it from the nav4all.com site. Eventually the nav4all service will cost something but it free as well until 2008. It's not as fancy as Wayfinder or TomTom but it works very well.

I think that the 240 is the same device in a smaller package. It's pretty tiny. I don't know how I feel about spending $80 on a GPS receiver w/o any software though. I know that the software you list is free until 2008 but if nothing else is out that's free I'll be SOL. Hmm... decisions.

The reason why I bought this GPS receiver is because Nav4All have a really good price for it and you can use it with any other software. When I could not get the voice directions to work with Nav4All I bought Wayfinder. It was $100 just for the software. Nokia's GPS is around $200. All of the GPS software is at least $100 without a GPS receiver. Also, unless the price has come down since I bought it, the 236 is 80 GBP or about $130.

Looks like you can get it for a little over half that amount now. The 240 is a couple ten spots more expensive but offers a much more compact package compared to the 236 which with all the crap in my pockets makes a difference.

The GPSlim 240 looks very nice and has a very good price. I bought the GPSlim 236 about 6 months ago and prices have certainly come down since then.
