Hi everybody.
I've got a question about a matter that is kinda driving me crazy. I'll try my best to explain it.
Recently got an E70, I use Macintosh, and decided to sync it with the Mac using ISync, saw over the internet that there are issues about it, but solutions as well, so everything is fine there.
My problem comes (I think) from the Bluetooth Serial Port. When I try to pair the Mac Bluetooth with the phone, it's not listed as a service available from the phone, and thus, when given pairing options, the only one available is the Internet Connection, and not the Agenda one.
My old 6600 does have that option, and it's shown in the Blueetooth pairing app on the Mac. When I'm gonna set up the connection, I'm given both choices, Internet and Agenda (I assume that the Agenda sync goes through the Bluetooth Serial Port).
I can't find anything related to the matter on the internet, and neither where to set that up. Maybe upgrading the firmware? Could I probably be missing something?
Thanks in advance.
I have had a similar problem on my E60 with the Bluetooth serial port service; it just doesn't show up in the list of services. I've used several different devices and Bluetooth stacks (Windows, Widcomm, and IVT) and none of them see the serial port service. There are also many posts on various forums about people not being able to connect their E series phone to various car kits. However, I can dial a phone number on my E60 from my Dell Axim PDA via Bluetooth and that user the serial port service and I can connect to my Bluetooth GPS receiver and that uses the Bluetooth serial port service. It is very strange; I have concluded that the Nokia implementation of Bluetooth on the E series phones is buggy. I hope the upcoming firmware update fixes this problem. If you find a solution, please post it here,
Mark
As for now, there's no solution to the problem. Nokia Tech Service tells me that there aren't any firmware updates available yet. I did more tests on my own, and the service will not show up on PC nor on another Mac with a Conceptronics USB Bluetooth. It's like it's completely gone and misfunctioning.
Perhaps I'll change the cellphone using the warranty, but I may still wait for a firmware update, hope they're aware of this problem.
