Symbian Freak reports that a new bug-fix firmware for the N93 is imminent, to go live on the update server, v11.0.034. Among other things, the free RAM after booting is now up to 24MB - wow, let's hope the same optimisation can be applied to the E70 and other 3rd Edition devices!

Read on in the full article.

Indeed, its the real improvement, amount of the free RAM on N93 could be pretty annoying issue, with just an single application in the background (camera or blackballer for example) its impossible to zoom image more than 50 % which is pretty tedious issue for phone that pretend to be a killer imaging phone!? Phone with such a superior hardware really requires and deserve a much more RAM.. ..

P.S.
Oh yes, thx 4 the link back, really appreciate it.. ..

Cheers,
Teo

But firmware upgrades dont give more fisical RAM... better use of the existing, maybe, but no more.

If the OS is suddenly using 4 MB less memory, its just as good as suddenly have an extra 4 MB of physical RAM.

Misunderstand nj7, of course that firmware cant upgrade RAM physically but it undoubtedly can improve memory management and give to us more free RAM.

Yes, agree. We are talking the same. I mean, that N93 was born with to little RAM, and with new software versions can improve the way it deal with that little RAM, but the base problem stay there.

Indeed, Ive talked about in my review, its shame that such a great hardware is disturbed by the small RAM amount, I still cant believe it, shame on you Nokia 😞

Have a nice and long weekend guys,
