E61 wallpaper stretch-to-screen

I have set a formatted 320x240 JPG image as my wallpaper but it appears significantly smaller than the actual device screen, as if the res is incorrect. I want it to completely cover the screen. Any suggestions?

I had the same problem until I understood that the top and bottom menu bars are NOT transparent and therefore eat into your screenspace. The solution is to make an image of 320 x 198. Of course if the theme you have doesn't match the wallpaper you'll end up with those menu bars looking a little ugly and uncoordinated. 😞

Yeah, what appears to happen is the phone reformats the image taking into account the top and bottom borders, but at the same time it proportionally adjusts the entire image so the left and right sides also get chopped. I'll try your modified format and see what happens. Thanks!

Worked great, thanks for the tip. I guess if they ever get the Theme Editor working for the E61 resolution you could go in and create color matched borders or whatever you want...

almost any graphics editing tool - I'd recommend GIMP if you wan't something powerful and free, but mspaint will do the job. Stretch and skew or something similar is the menu item you'd look for.

Cheers man I ended up using Irfan View and it worked man 😊 Do you know any chance why movies cant be view in stretched to fit screen? No Biggie if you dont:icon14:

Who said they can't?
You just have to crop them on your pc and you can have a completely full screen display.

Automatic stretching i don't think you can do as that would involve resampling the whole movie on the fly - heavily cpu intensive. As Rottie suggests though, you can do this on your pc once with some movie editing software and then move it back to your phone.
