This phone seriously doing my head in !!!
thanks to taz for the advice on updating to v4. Everything has worked perfectly updated no problem, seems another problem has reared its head though.
To install.v4 i had to remove nokia pc suite, before i did i made a backup of my phone, updated and as expected all my settings were erased, i've now re-installed nokia pc suite 6.70.22 from the disc that came with my phone only to find that the connection wizard won't find my phone, i've also tried downloading the new 6.81 nokia pc suite from the website to see if that works, but that won't even install it says i'm missing a certain .dll file, all of this leads to the point that i've lost about 300 odd contacts pictures etc etc, but they're still on my computer if i could only connect.
Any help would be massively appreciated please please please :con?

What's the specific .dll file / error message please?

Are you trying to connect via USB / Bluetooth?

Did you remove all the flashing software, including the "Nokia Connectivity Drivers" (listed in Add / Remove Programs) and reboot before trying to reinstall PC Suite?

Is the phone recognised by the PC when connected via USB or do you get a message about missing drivers?

Hi, i had this problem yesterday.where i wanted to install pc suite on my laptop and it wouldnt let me. i even found the dll and stuck it in the system folder but that had no luck. then after reading the error properly it mensioned windows defender that i had installed so i uninstalled windows defender and the problem was gone. just wondering if you have windows defender? hope that helped

I've sort of got round the problem, i am trying to run the pc suite through a usb connection with no luck, i've installed the new nokia pc suite but its only limited because there were about 15 missing .dll files, i just kept ignoring the missing files and it eventually installed, although with errors, loaded the new suite up and found where the backup data was stored, saved this to disk, loaded the pc suite on another computer here at work (which was fine ), and restored the data from the disk which has worked fine hope this helps if anyone else has the same problem.
still can't get pc suite to load on my computer though, and no i haven't got windows defender.
the first error message read " error 1904 module C:\program files\common files\pc suite\data layer\dl2dasms.dll failed to register hresult-2147024770. contact your support personnel"
this message kept coming up but with different .dll files as i said about 15 times

if you go to the Start Menu and select "Run", and type the following in the box:

regsvr32 C:\program files\common files\pc suite\data layer\dl2dasms.dll

and press Enter - does it succeed or fail?

Sounds like either a permissions issue on the affected pc (are you using an Administrator level account to install PCSuite?) or a corrupted download to me :con?

Try going to add and remove programs and remove Nokia PC suit Nokia pc connectivity solution and Nokia connectivity cable driver then reinstall by your cd or the latest version of the Nokia site. Mine wouldnt recognise the phone untill I did this. If you uninstall Nokia pc suit through the start menu does it remove the connectivity solution and the connectivity cable from your pc? If not try uninstalling these from add and remove programs and see if that works.
