Camera Problem

Hi guys hope someone can help. Whenever i open up the camera app, after a few seconds the screen will automatically go back to the wallpaper screen then after a few seconds again bounce back to the camera and then back to the wallpaper screen and so on and so forth ! It has a mind of its own in both video and image mode !! I've tried upgrading the firmware altho i can't get the software updater app to get passed the splash screen, this has been tried on 3 different computers and its the same on all 3 ! Also, In general i've found both the n80 (which i returned for an N70) to be very fragile, easilly freaked out if u try and do anything quick on em, never had any such probs with the 6630 which i believe to be the best and most solid phone hardware and software wise that i've ever owned !! Pity i dropped it into a pint of water by mistake !! ouch !

After all that, seems a defaut unit. Change, for a new one. You have the garatee, correct!

Yep, only had it a few days.

Only thing is after all the talk on here of TOM TOM not working properly on the n70 i've found i've had not the slightest of problems at all. In fact, drove for 4 hours and it didn't drop connection once the whole time, better than it worked on my 6630. I drive a lot so don't wanna change the unit to find that when i get a new one, Tom Tom doesn't work !!

Out of interest how are you starting the camera, with the slider or from the Imaging menu?

Was wondering if it was a mechanical problem with the slider.

Re your N80 comments - likewise. I returned mine for an N70. The slider on the N80 was absolute garbage and the signal strength was nil in my workplace. It was pretty bad with my 6630 but the N70 must have a turbocharged receiver - it's excellent.

Nah, i thought it could be the slider aswell but it's not. Seems like a software problem. Regardless of where u start the camera from, its the same thing. I've just had a thought tho, i haven't registered the new sim card they've sent me and am still using the old one i had. Not likely but i am aware that the new sims are different and it could be this that is making the phone work incorrectly. I'll register and try it with the new sim and see wot happens. Otherwise will send back for a new one - same thing happened when i 1st got my 6630 ! In fact anything i buy i am cursed with having to give it back for a replacement ! Such bad luck !

Turns out it woz the sim card ! Although it still done the same thing before registration. Works perfectly now tho. :icon14:
