Hey guys,
I updated my generic N70 to V 5.0616.0.3 a couple of days ago and one thing I noticed is that my battery life has decreased dramatically.
It used to last me some three days with 3G and bluetooth switched off, but now after half a day it shows only half a battery left and just dies after a day and a half max.
Anyone else have this experience? Maybe I'm overlooking some process in the background that I can stop? Is there a way to see what processes are actually running, like a Windows Task Manager type overview?
Other changes I noticed: The startup animation is now silent at booting up if you shut down in a silent profile too. I got a couple new languages, I now have Dutch, English, French, German, Italian and Turkish. The icon for the music player has changed. Can't really say it's faster or slower now I've updated the phone.

Strange... I also have an N70 with last software, and didnt notest any negative impact.
To see backgroun processes, its possible with FExplorer or Taskman.
The battery problem usually happens if your battery is not 100% full when flashing the new software onto your phone. Not really sure the way round it, might be best to contact Nokia via:

I fully charged my phone today, had bluetooth on for about half an hour, checked maybe two websites and am missing two bars already. :icon13:
I'll flash the phone again when I'm sure it's fully charged when I have the time, since the guys at Nokia here in South Africa are clueless and I'd almost say I know more about phones than they do.
Update: flashed phone again, with battery fully charged. Now missing one bar after almost two days. Nice.
the start up tone is/was always muted when you shut down your phone in silent mode. It was the same with my 6600 aswell
Same here - having to recharge my phone every day since updating. Not used it today apart from a couple of texts and a 2 minute phonecall and down to 2 bars. I have also noticed that it doesn't take much more than a half hour charge before the battery is full. Will charge it fully now and reinstall the update to see if that makes any difference.
