Hello all,
I have recently bought an N80 having previously owned Windows based smartphones. Symbian is a new experience for me but I wondered if anyone knew how to sort contacts (which have been synced from my Outlook contacts list) so that I can find names by "company name". All I can see is "first name, last name" options which isn't much use when you have a list of company names. You would have thought that there would have been more sorting options.
Also with the Windows mobile OS you could type in the name (or part of it) directly onto the keypad and it would list all matches. You could then choose the correct one and start the call. A very fast way of dialling which seems to be lacking in the N80.
Anybody?
Thanks
Andy

That is possible. When You have the name You want, press the joystick and select another one.

How? I mean straight off the keypad and not from within the contacts app. Is it possible?
e.g I want to call "Jim" so I type 5(j) 4(i) 6(m). All I get on the phone is 546! :frown:

From the keypad... On E61 Im not sure, but from others, is possible a direct dialling, when assigned a number to the keys 2 - 9. Only that way...
Hmmm.
Yes, speed dialling is one way but only for a limited number of contacts, not for any contact.
At the moment Windows is winning in "Andys OS battle for mobiles". :frown:

It depends of our needs. Untill know, for me, Symbian wins, but I admit that one of this days, change for a Windows Mobile device. When they are more reliable, better camera and with FM Radio, maybe I change OS😉
