Phoenix sets up a USB connection ok, but then doesn't pick my phone up in a 'Scan'

Any idea's what's up? I've got a generic firmware N80. I've followed the bbreaper guide to a T, everything installed ok. I setup a USB connection within Phoenix, it finds a connection etc, I select USB, then Apply. Next I got to File > Scan Product and it just scans then says No Product!

try to install the firmware.exe to the path C:\Program Files\Nokia\Phoenix
you'll find v4 fw in reaper download it then install it and scan again

Just done what you said, still doesn't pick the phone up, says it's Ready but No product found 😞

maybe you should check your steps up from the beginin' ,check this thread im sure it will help you alot even without a reaper http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/forum//forum/thread/50297/
check the posts # 11 and 12 carefully and the programs you are gonna need in post #5

just besure you remove nokia pc suite and all apps related to it before install diago and nokia cable driver ,and when you join the N80 to the cable besure the PC automatically load the cable driver

I had this for my first 5 or 6 goes, in teh end, I removed everything and ran BBReaper including the CCleaner link to get rid of everything. then following the instructions, it worked first time. I'm not sure what teh difference was,, only that with REAPER it worked fine
