Hi all,

Looking for some advice and help, i've just got myself a lovely black N80 (UK)

The firmware is
3.0617.0.6
03-05-2006
RM92
N80 (58.01)

I've searched the faq's and stickys and forums and still cant find my help.

I'm very very new to this type of phone, coming from a nokia 6310i.

Here are my questions and sorry for the amount of questions, maybe it will help others too:

Whats the latest Firmware SUPPORTED by nokia that can be done ourselves?
Whats the link and How?

Is there a dumbo's guide for downloading apps, i understand this can be done but have no idea where to start?

Symbian and S60, what does this phone use ?

Absolutly any Begineers guides ?

Thanks alot and looking forward to replies.

All the best.

- You can't update your N80 firmware yet. It is not supported yet. However, I would guess it should be available very soon. You can check it out at http://www.nokia.co.uk/softwareupdate.

- Download an application is very easy. You can open Web browser application and just download applications from there. For example, you can start from this site (allaboutsymbian.com) or www.my-symbian.com. Alternatively, you can download the applications to your PC and then install it on your device using Nokia's PC Suite. PC Suite should be available on your CD-ROM shipped with N80.

- N80 uses Symbian OS 9.1 and S60 3rd Edition. Symbian OS is the underlying operating system while S60 is the user interface.

- Well, for more tips and tricks of using your phone, you can visit my blog http://www.s60tips.com/. There are a lot of things you can do with your device actually... 😊

What a change... from 6310i and the best battery ever to a N80 battery, ... maybe one of the worst ever.... what a change😉
