The light on the Receiver is just on stand by mode with the light fixed on although the Satellite led is flashing away receiving a signal..
I've doned a little investigating on the net. Saying that the nokia 6630 doest have a serial port and doesnt work with some bluetooth devices or something.. But people are saying they have theirs working etc etc..
Can someone shed some light on this situation? Do i need to upgrade to lastest firm ware?(still running factory installed)
Help would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
D.
The pairing process, usually is easy! I had saw different GPS with different phones, and none in particular is a buggy one... But do a firmware upgrade, is always a good idea. Now, You can use the Nokia Software Updater tool, from your PC.
Installed the latest firmware yet its still not connecting to the GPS receiver properly or at all..
I mean both of them have been paired together.. Found each other ok, asked for password etc.. Just seems like they aint talking to each other..

Since You have the last firmware, could be also a faulty unit... it happens. Try with another GPS unit.
You can try the process I tried with my 6680, might work.
Firstly - GO OUTSIDE! Most GPS receivers ( mine is 32 channel ) claim to work indoors, but they don't do so welll )
Secondly - place the GPS Receiver under your windscreen - where it gets maximum exposure to the skies.
Make sure your reciver has already been paired with your phone - go through the usual BT pairing process.
Then, go into TomTom ( TT ) main menu. Choose option ( I think ) 5 - Change Preferences. Here, navigate to the about the third screen, which is GPS Status. From here, press 'Configure'. This takes you to a list of available GPS Receivers - which is only usually a choice of two. TT Recievers or Other. Choose Other.
This then takes you to another screen which looks like a series of bar graphs, and a small blue / yellow cirlce in the top right corner. If the circle is spinning - it is trying to connect. Wait a few moment, then the greyed out bars will change to dark blue. THis is when you have a GPS signal. The greyed out numbers change to back, and you're done. Click 'Done' and you're off.
