"No answer from Gateway"

Thats the message I get when trying to connect 2 my Wlan at home. A WPN824 Netgear router>Nokia E61. My computers are on the Wlan and it works fine but when trying to connect with my Nokia I get this message. Funny thing is, I can use the phone to connect to my neighbours unprotected Wlan. I am using WPA2 and Ive set the password in the phone but...NO luck.

Any Ideas guys? What am I doing wrong here?

Thanks.

Update* I tried disabling WPA but I get the same error.

If it connescts fine to the neighbours open network, then I suggest you open your router up fully - disable all encryption, make the SSID visible etc. - and try that. If that works, then move a step at a time and enable the secutiry features one at a time...checking after each step that you can log on with your E61.

Cheers

Tried that but it didnt work, SSID Broadcasting on and no encryption but I still get the same message. 😞

A number of people have found that disabling power saving on the E61 improves WLAN performance.

Wirelessly posted (Nokia E61: Mozilla/5.0 (SymbianOS/9.1; U; en-us) AppleWebKit/413 (KHTML, like Gecko) Safari/413 es61)

Is the message appearing when you attempt to use the browser ?

My guess is that your DHCP server is not sending DNS info, just IP address and Gateway.

Can you open a web site using an IP address ?

Regards, Michael

I tried but it just timed out(nothing happened) but atleast I didnt get the error saying: No Answer from Gateway so you might be right, if you are, how do I fix it?
