Cannot connect to WLAN

3 replies · 13,519 views · Started 10 September 2006

Having problems connecting to any WLAN. My home WLAN is set up as with no security or MAC addres filtering.

When searching for available WLAN from the N80 I can see my network. When trying to connect via the internal or Opera browser I get the an error message saying "WLAN: Unable to connect to WLAN no WLAN network found"

I have tried the following with no luck:

1. Set router to broadcast SSID and configure N80 to look at this chanel
2. Added N80 MAC address to router
3. SET N80 IPv4 IP settings to WLAN network range (Router: 192.168.2.1 N80: 192.168.2.5)

Changing some of the N80 settings results in a different error message, something like "....No gateway response"

Really don't know what else to try - can anyone help with this issue? Or does anyone know of any Nokia support channels?

Thanks

Edgar

Hmmm. Have you tried setting up a connection in settings? Does the N80 even detect the netwrok in wifi search?

I have set up the connection in settings and the N80 does detect the network!!

Do you think upgrading the firmware from version v3.0317.0.06 will help?

Nah it should be working. Follow the manual book with the phone. Make sure the setup of the connection is correct. Sometimes we miss the simplest things. If it unsecure you dont need to set anything ususaly. Just connect to it.

Remember to connect you need run aprogram that needs the internet like web browser.
