firmware problem
I have an o2 N80 which I flashed myself with the latest v4 firmware.
You loose the o2 things like the start up screen and theme.
You also loose the o2 settings for wap and mms ect but these can be easily installed using the settings wizard.
If you asked more firmly maybe the service centre will upgrade to generic v4 firmware?
A phone with generic firmware, lost all operator related restrictions. You can use that kind of phone with any operator SIM.

Even if you flash it with generic firmware, it doesnt mean its unlocked....
flashing with generic firmware will not remove locks, just remove operator specific settings.
But I would like to say that I have had several o2 phones and so far none of them have been locked to o2
