Keep some applications open?

Hi, I love my N80 and I havent had a lot of the problems that some people seem to be plagued with on here. However I do have one thing that really annoys me about the N80. When I had my 7610 I could use the red button to close the application but it remained in the background so that when I clicked on that app again it opened instantly. My N80 however thinks that it is really clever and can manage its memory 'intelligently' and always closes the messaging application when I hit the red button so it then always takes a couple of seconds to open up when I click on the icon again! Is there any way that I can turn off its 'intelligence' so that I can choose how I want my phone to run?

Thanks
Jon

All S60v3 devices are that way. Use instead the menu button, and they keep open on background.

Yeah I think it's memory hungry apps like Web Browser that it closes. It's either down to how much memory the program is taking up, or whether it's been programmed to close with the Red button I guess.
