Wondering if anyone had a solution. upgraded firmware on first n80 to v4 with no problems, had phone replaced when speaker broke. New phone will not let me upgrade f/w, the operating mode in phoenix won't let me select normal, goes to rf inactive. Tried soft and hard reset, tried selecting change with reset and going to test and back (as suggested in previous thread) to no avail, stick won't go to norma. Aprppreciate any suggestions???

Switch the phone from offline to general. Then you can put it into normal mode. After that continue as normal. Worked ok for me........

thanks Dave, will try tonight, just wondering if that means I have to put the sim card in it in order to get to general mode, or can you get there without the need for a sim.

You have to put the SIM card in. This didn't cause me any problems -- settings on the SIM card were preserved.
