N70 3.5mm stereo adaptor issue

2 replies · 2,254 views · Started 13 September 2006

Just bought a genuine nokia 3.5mm headphone adaptor and it doesn't seem to work.

It's detected as a headset as soon as I plugged it in (no headphones attached), but when I connect a headset I get no sound.

Have tried 2 headsets and an RCA connection to my stereo - nothing.

Is there anything to configure to get these adaptors working - can't see anything in the manual/settings.

Cheers

edit: The adaptor is part no: AD-18, and it does have N70 listed on the package. Methinks it might be faulty?

I think you mean AD-15 (Can't find AD-18 on Nokia's site)

I have an AD-15 and it works fine, There is no set-up, Just plug in and go....

The only problem I have now and then (And in general with the pop-port) is dust getting on the connector and stopping it from working,

Make sure the connect on the phone and the AD-15 is clean (use a small soft brush),

Also when I plug mine in I always plug the right in first, This way it connects the signal wires first before the power,

Carl,

Nope, definitely AD-18. Doesn't have the square bit like the 18, just a plain 3.5mm socket on the end of the cable.

The supplier is sending me a replacement as he believes it is faulty. Thanks though 😊
