thanks for your reply,im not to sure whats going on but they said its something to do with the product code?? im not really very competent with all this so not sure doing it myself is such a good idea! one thing i do know is im having a mare trying to sort this out!

just looked at the link you sent me and its not the version i need,i need v 4 not 3 i have 3 already,cheers

Maybe you should try another service center.

The network providers have their own modified versions (with all their logos and other crap) of the generic firmware and they are usually slow to move to the latest version of firmware available. Maybe that is what they mean.

Generic = V4.0623.0.41 - 26-07-2006 - RM-92

Three = V3.0618.0.2 - 23-05-2006 RM-92

Orange = v3.0617.06 - 03.05.2006. RM-92

Vodafone = V3.0617.0.6 - 03-05-2006 RM-92

O2 = v3.0617.0.6 - 03 May 06 RM-92 RM92

So ask the service center to load the generic firmware, not the provider one.

After they do that, then in the Tools menu use the Settings Wizard to select your provider and it automagically loads the right settings.

i have a sim free phone, it is not linked to any network so should not have any restrictions at all, i think i might try a different service center. i just paid top price for it! so you think it might be the people at the service centre then?
